HEALROCIN (Ointment)

HEALROCIN is a high-potency ointment formulation containing Mupirocin 2% W/W.

Clinical Pharmacology

Mupirocin is a topical antibacterial agent that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to bacterial isoleucyl-tRNA synthetase.

Indications & Usage

For treatment of susceptible localized bacterial skin infections, including:

• Impetigo
• Infected superficial wounds
• Localized bacterial skin infections
• Infected abrasions and minor cuts
• Secondary bacterial infection of superficial skin lesions

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to mupirocin or formulation components.

Warnings & Precautions

For external use only. Avoid eyes and mucous membranes. Prolonged or inappropriate use may promote resistance.

Drug Interactions

Clinically significant systemic interactions are unlikely with topical use.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Use when clinically indicated.

Dosage & Administration

Apply a small amount to the affected area as directed. Do not use for prolonged periods without medical review.

Adverse Reactions

Local burning, itching, erythema or irritation.
